My name is Jessica Jones, and I am a librarian/manager/information literacy advocate.

I read a lot, but that’s not what makes me a librarian. I love standardization, digitization, digital works, classification policies, and the Library of Congress Authorities, but that’s not what makes me a librarian either. I believe in an even playing field, where everyone can access the texts they need to make informed decisions. If you happen to pick up a novel or movie on the way out of my office, so much the better.

Currently, I manage a public library branch, but I have also worked in academic and research libraries, and I have loved them all. I specialize in issues of information literacy, access methods, preservation, cataloging, management, and reference.

When not at work, I’m probably either reading, taking pictures, storm chasing with my husband, traveling, or cooking. Or Netflixing.
